|NOTE: The tariff information is used by the Envoy to determine the best battery charge and discharge schedule. Changing this information will change your system’s behavior.|
To view the tariff/rate structure for your system, click the drop-down arrow next to Signed in as… and choose Settings. Scroll down to Tariff Information.
If a tariff/rate structure has not yet been configured, start by selecting either Single Rate or Time of Use from the dropdown menu.
If a tariff/rate structure has already been configured, a summary of its settings is displayed. Click the pencil icon to make changes.
Seasonal and Weekend Rates
After you make a selection from the Tariff/Rate Structure menu, MyEnlighten provides these customization options:
Select Rate differs between seasons if the price of electricity differs between Summer and Winter. When you select this option, you can choose which months are Summer vs. Winter.
Select Rate differs between weekday and weekend if the price of electricity differs between weekdays and weekend days.
Once you’ve made your selections for those options, MyEnlighten displays between one and four timeframes: one if rates don’t differ between seasons or weekdays/weekends four if rates differ for both (Summer Weekday, Summer Weekend, Winter Weekday, Winter Weekend).
Setting a Single-Rate Tariff
If you selected Single Rate, enter the price per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for each timeframe, then tap Save Tariff Information to save your settings.
Setting a Time of Use Tariff
If you selected Time of Use, enter the following information for each timeframe:
- Off-peak price per kilowatt-hour (kWh)
- Peak start and end time
- Peak price per per kilowatt-hour (kWh)
You can add as many peak periods as necessary for each timeframe. For example, you may have a time of use structure that has multiple peaks on weekdays, but no peaks on weekends. Or, there may be peaks only during the Summer weekdays, but not any other time of the year.
Finally, for each timeframe you have the option to charge batteries from the grid at night in preparation for a morning peak. When you select this option, you can choose the duration for the overnight charge (a maximum of four hours between 2:00 am and 6:00 am). The batteries will begin to discharge in the early morning to make room for a solar charge later in the day.
You can also update your tariff settings using the Enlighten mobile app. Simply tap through to the menu Menu screen, tap Account and access Tariff Information at the bottom of the screen. The configuration screens are the same as in MyEnlighten.
