Rapid Shutdown Switch now required for installations with IQ System Controller 2.

If you are installing an Enphase Energy System with IQ8 Microinverters and an IQ System Controller 2, a Rapid Shutdown Switch (RSD) is required. For these installations, it is extremely important to read this field bulletin outlining specific ordering for the wiring of the RSD during installation. Failure to follow the steps outlined can result in a product failure and project delays.

Starting in August, training will be required for all backup configurations.

Effective August 1 2022, training and certification will be mandatory for all backup configurations (Sunlight Backup, Home Essentials Backup, and Full Energy Independence)—for every individual installer professional. We have published a one-page overview listing the certification requirements by product, including direct links to corresponding Enphase University courses, certifications, and webinar trainings.

IQ8 Microinverters are ready for IEEE 1547-2018.

The Enphase IQ8 Microinverter is the first in the world to be certified to UL 1741 SB. This certification meets the new North American safety and grid interconnection standards in compliance with IEEE 1547-2018. We have published a Compliance Update page to educate installers on the requirements and timing around IEEE 1547-2018. Timing varies by state so please visit this page often.
