Concert Goers Rock Out to Solar-Charged Theater
Home to major touring names like Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, and Pink, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre is Adelaide’s most popular concert and theater venue. But the Centre’s popularity comes with a price—a high energy price that is—leaving them in need of a long-term solar solution.
Smaller Footprint Means Greater Savings
Considered one of the most contemporary, flexible, and accessible live entertainment venues in Australia, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre multi-facility arena and theater draws quite the crowd. Day-to-day operations for a place of this size and reputation consume large energy loads, with multiple peaks during the day.
To combat its dependence on utility electricity, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre turned to leading energy solutions provider Absolute Solar & Electrical to design South Australia’s largest Enphase System, installing 100kW of solar power. With over 15 years of solar experience and 2 megawatts of installations, Absolute was well equipped to manage the project.
Despite its size, the 100kW system covers less than 10 percent of the Centre’s overall load. But that’s not to say the Centre’s new solar system isn’t substantially reducing both its electricity bill and carbon footprint.
“Even with its large size, designing this system was extremely straight forward, and we were able to fit all the panels on one roof,” said Teague. “Enphase provided exceptional support when we needed it, from assisting with the initial pitch, to onsite commissioning, to installation advice.”
Trusted Technology—For Years to Come
As a high profile, public site, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre needed safe, proven solar technology it could trust. Enphase’s unmatched safety and reliability standards are backed by products that have undergone 1 million power-on hours of accelerated, long-term reliability testing prior to release.
“For government jobs such as this one, it is imperative that everything is planned and executed precisely to ensure zero disruption to the Centre’s daily operations,” said Matt Teague, Director of Operations for Absolute Solar. “Enphase technology allowed us to easily design a system with maximum production capabilities, while matching all project requirements and delivering a state-of-the-art solar system.”
As a company focused on delivering high caliber solar solutions, Enphase’s reputation of unmatched quality and reliability gave Teague and his team confidence to recommend Enphase products to clients in the future, knowing it can last long-term and achieve impressive production performance.
“The installation went exactly to plan and came off without a hitch thanks to Enphase,” said Teague.
